The Marist Tennis Club has provided a home for family tennis enjoyment in its 88 years of existence.  The club continues to operate from Vautier Park in Puriri Terrace. There are 12 courts which have all been resurfaced recently, four of them with Rebound Pro.

Marist has encouraged the development of tennis in primary schools. The Hot Shots Saturday morning beginners coachingl is conducted by John Salisbury. Beginners are coached in small groups. Junior interclub teams practise and receive coaching on Fridays after school. There are 6 junior and 4 senior teams in the Tennis Manawatu Interclub Competiton.

There are opportunities for junior players to participate in winter coaching programmes as well. At the Manawatu Sports Clubs of the Year Awards we were winners in the" Best Junior Player Development" category.

Last season the club experienced the best season ever, when 8 of the 12 teams made the semi-finals. We also had 4 players represent Manawatu and a special mention to Shenae Salisbury who was runner up at the NZ National Doubles Championship.
